A native of Yangon, Myanmar, Pun spent his formative years in China during the Great Cultural Revolution and arrived in Hong Kong at the age of 21. He started out his career as a salesman at a Hong Kong-based real estate firm where he worked for ten years. In 1983, Pun went on to found Serge Pun & Associates Limited in Hong Kong and eventually returned to the country of his birth to establish SPA Myanmar in 1991.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPA\u2019s flagship First Myanmar Investment Co.,\nLtd., one of the first public companies in Myanmar, was established in 1992;\nand in 2006, Serge Pun led Yoma Strategic Holdings to a successful listing on\nthe mainboard of the Singapore Stock Exchange. Today, SPA Group has grown to\nbecome one of Myanmar\u2019s leading corporations with 40 operating companies which\nare active in eight business sectors: banking and financial services, real\nestate development, automotive, agriculture and logistics, luxury travel and\ntourism, consumer services, aviation, and healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pun is currently a member of the World\nEconomic Forum Global Agenda Council for Transparency and Anti-Corruption, a\nstanding member of the Chinese People\u2019s Political Consultative Conference of\nDalian, and a member of the Asia Business Council. Additionally, he served as\nan Honorary Business Representative of the International Enterprise Singapore\nfor Myanmar from 2004 till 2006. Pun was awarded an honorary Doctorate of\nPhilosophy in Business Administration by the Southern California University in\n1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is frequently invited to be a speaker in international forums on Myanmar and ASEAN. In 2014, Pun was awarded the special honor of being selected as one of the 65 outstanding Overseas Chinese Model worldwide to feature on a series of commemorative postage stamps celebrating the 65th<\/sup> anniversary of the People\u2019s Republic of China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pun now resides in Yangon with his wife and four sons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
